RED AMP AUDIO UNVEILS VIRGINIA’S FIRST PROFESSIONAL DOLBY ATMOS STUDIO

Red Amp Audio is excited to be the first commercial music and audio post-production facility to bring Dolby Atmos and immersive audio mixing to Virginia.

Based on placing audio elements in a three-dimensional space, Dolby Atmos provides a unique immersive audio experience that empowers creators to produce content not previously possible in stereo. Red Amp Audio’s new immersive mix room was designed to precise specifications and has been tuned and calibrated by Dolby Laboratories. It features a 7.1.4 monitoring layout giving content creators access to seven speakers in horizontal plane, four overheads, and one for low frequency effect reproduction.

From cell phones and tablets to soundbars and home theater receivers, Dolby Atmos is now widely available to consumers worldwide. With increasing demand for immersive audio post-production, the upgraded suite also enables mixing of commercials and long form content for broadcast as well as for delivery to the major streaming services.

Red Amp Audio is a TEC (Technical Excellence & Creativity) Award nominated studio for outstanding creative achievement in acoustics/facility design and was featured on the cover of Mix's Studio Design Class of 2010. The studio, located in downtown Richmond Virginia, has three audio recording / mix suites, a podcast suite, a two story tracking room, and an isolation booth.

Red Amp was designed by award-winning architect Peter Grueneisen, FAIA (DreamWorks Animation, Dave Matthews Band, Sony Music Japan, Hans Zimmer).
